After installing NetPoint, any user on your network will be able to access your NetPoint web site. This section will walk you through securing your site.
The first step to securing your network inventory is to lockdown the IIS virtual directory for NetPoint. This will allow only certain Windows users to access your site.
You can do this by opening the IIS Manager from Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools. Right-click the NetPoint virtual directory and select Properties. Then go to the Directory Security tab and in the Authentication and access control section, click Edit. Make sure the Windows Integrated Authentication checkbox is the only authentication method selected.
Once the NetPoint virtual directory has been configured, only users that have been granted access to the C:\Program Files\Neutex NetPoint\Web directory will be able to view your NetPoint web site. You can add or remove users by right-clicking this folder in Windows Explorer, select Sharing and Security, and go to the Security tab.
